High Speed Continuous Motion Side Sealer
High Speed Continuous Motion Side Sealer
The Advantage Machinery Servo Series is a line of continuous motion side sealers manufactured using the most modern technology available. The machine is controlled with 6 servo motors to ensure accuracy and speed. The infeed conveyor automatically spaces the product and feeds it onto the sealing conveyor, where the product is side sealed. The product then continues onto the takeaway conveyor and is cross sealed. Both the conveyors before and after the cross seal are independently controlled by servo motors to be able to create gaps after sealing or to relax the film prior to sealing. The continuous motion ensures a stable product transfer and avoids product slipping as it will never stop throughout the entire sealing process. The back and forth of the box motion and the cross-sealing action are also controlled with servo motors. This machine allows for a variety of products to be packaged, including very long and variable length products. The HS-400 is easy to change over and operate.
The Design for the Rhodes Bakery application includes an additional 4 servo controlled conveyor infeed. The first 3 conveyors are 16.22” long each followed by a 39.37” long conveyor. There is a sensor infront of each of the conveyors detecting the gap between the products. The first conveyor is always running at the maximum possible client line speed. In this case it is 90 per minute. The next 3 conveyor will be running slower to index and space the products to ensure a continuous motion at the speeds of 70. This operation will ensure a steady gap and production rate. When there is an increase of thruput in the line, the sensors will detect a reduction of space between the products and the sealing speed of the machine will increase to match the maximum client line speed to ensure that these bottlenecks will be run properly.
Some of the machine features are:
Film Splicers and Center Folders
Advantage Machinery manufactures a line of film splicers and center folders to minimize the downtime of equipment due to roll change. The machine has a dual roll carriage that the flat film gets fed on a film shaft. The system has a low film alarm that warns when the film is getting low and also sends a signal to the wrapper once the film runs out. The operator then goes and splices the new roll with the finished roll using a built in sealing system. The film then passes through a center folding device and through the sealing system. The film splice joins both rolls of film and it feeds the sealing system. The seal that splices both rolls will pass through the sealing machine and will appear as a seal line in the package that it lands on. Additionally, a film buffer system can be included to make it a completely non stop operation.
